Description
This Icon is the depiction of the last meal Jesus eats with his disciples before his betrayal and arrest. The Last Supper is the basis for the Eucharist (from the Greek Eucharist for “thanksgiving”) known as holy communion or the Lord’s Supper. This today is a distinctive rite of Christian worship; the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ. During this last meal, Jesus reveals that one of the disciples would betray him.
