Description

The letters of Saint Joseph the Hesychast, already well known to the world since their publication in the book Monastic Wisdom, are for the first time now available exactly as they were written by the Saint himself from his small hesychastic cave on Mount Athos. The book contains a lengthy introduction on the life of Saint Joseph, poems published for the first time in English, as well as many new unpublished letters.

The Letters & Poems of Saint Joseph the Hesychast is the first in the Holy Mountain Series, a new book series created to continue to quench the spiritual thirst of our brethren with the empirical, ascetic teaching on the spiritual life of the Holy Orthodox Church, which has been lived to perfection on the Holy Mountain by numerous monks for over ten centuries. The Holy Mountain, also known as Mount Athos, has given birth to thousands of Saints in the Orthodox Church, most of whom are unknown. Through these letters we come to know on a personal level this spiritual giant of our times.
