This beautiful handcrafted bangle-style bracelets are truly one of a kind and are made in California. This Christ Pantocrator Icon bracelet is exclusive to Art of the Icon customers. Traditionally, each bracelet is handmade using images from old books, church bulletins and vintage religious ephemera . We cut and hand tear each image to form a collage on the bracelet-we focus on the main image or Saint, then build pieces around the bracelet to tell the story. The image is adhered to the bracelet and then sealed with resin. The bracelet must continuously spin for 12 hours so that the image is evenly coated . As the sealant dries, the image underneath may change as the sealant seeps into the paper. The color changes often produce an even better image than what we started with. As the changes can’t be controlled, each bracelet now has one of a kind features. The process from tearing the image and designing the collage to a finished bracelet takes approximately 7 days-truly a labor of love.
